July 4th weekend

Hello everyone,

I have been getting worse and worse and keeping up with my posts. Look back, I'm averaging one post per month which is pitiful. Sorry. I'll try to keep up better. Well, we'll see if I can make up for it with the next slew of posts. At the beginning of the month, I had a 3 day weekend for the 4th of July. Liz's mom came down to visit. While she was here we went to the New River Fair in Pembroke on Saturday and the Narrows Fair on Monday (the 4th). Here are a few pictures from the Narrows Fair first. We didn't go last year because we were in SC I believe. The fair was right next to Wolf Creek so we went swimming. The water was cold but bearable. Even Isaac got in. We kept each other warm.

This summer, three new couples came into the ward. All three were here to work for Celanese. Two were for internships, the third for a full time job. That means that the numbers of young, married couples who are here on account of Celanese has swelled. Its great news for us because it means there's never a lack of fun things happening or a dearth of people who want to be there.

It's quite a large group and we love doing lots of things. We just finished "Harry Potter night" where we watched all the movies leading up to the release of the last one. We also have game night every Friday night and love getting together for other occasions. We also went to the Narrows fair. The fair itself wasn't that cool and thunderstorms ruined our swimming but oh well. We went from there to the Keslers for a BBQ and games. After dinner and games we went to our place. We launched fireworks (thanks Don for your donation), enjoy a fire in my backyard, and watched fireworks You could see the Narrow's show from my front yard. The only problem is clouds kept blocking our view. Despite that, it was still a lot of fun. I wish I had some pictures of us launching fireworks. Oh well. I need to get some good pictures of our group.

The Saturday before that, we went to the New River Fest. Liz and her mom enjoyed tubing down the New River while I watched Isaac. We also had fun on a climbing wall they had there. I think all of us made it to the top.

That's all I got in regards to the 4th of July. More to come!

-James
